Harlene

My friend and first beta [profile] methos_fan
passed away Tuesday from complications of Parkinson's Disease. There will be a
memorial Aug 28th at the Bahia Center. She is survived by her father, brother and nephew.

I had wanted to post more to you all while she was in the hospital, but she kept
telling me that she would tell you herself all about it when she was better.

Harlene loved the PWFC, and Peter, and working on the club's web pages. She
loved hiking and tai chi before her illness. She had a quirky sense of humor and
we loved to argue. I will miss her very much.

Oh, when I told her about Peter's new path she giggle and said, "Now he can say
I'm a doctor now, but I used to play one on TV."

She inspired my pen name here in fandom --

Our bodies are always too frail to hold the great spirits within us, and this was especially true for Harlene. She was always friendly and genuine, and caring, and willing to give a kind comment and a helping hand. We will all miss her, and remember her with affection and love. And a lot of sadness, just right now. :(

Harlene was one of the first people to welcome me into the Wingfield fandom, despite being so happily involved with her club responsibilities--I will never forget the walk we all shared down Beale Street in Memphis.

Thank you for telling us.
I knew her only through her comments on stories and through the PWFC, but I'll miss her. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh, I'm so sorry... I only knew her through the online fandom, but I'd challenge anyone who'd say that 'online' is lees than 'real'...
Please accept my condolences and give them also to her family.
