Surprise Soup

[adabsolutely]

Been making soup on this cool November afternoon. Meat, potatoes, onion, broccoli, chanterelles all chopped. Herbs from the yard, bay leaf, sage and thyme added. And a nice jar of frozen beef broth, which tuned out to be an unlabeled jar of apple sauce from last fall! Laughed my butt off once I realized. Adding chili powder, and basil to compete with all that cinnamon from the sauce. Should be interesting. Steaks standing by if it turns out inedible, but the crew seem game and amused. Everyone comes out of their den to watch when the cook is laughing that hard...


I finished the first draft on my hl_shortcuts story this morning. Will cautiously add spice now...
